Shri. Om Prakash Mathur will be sworn in as Governor of Keralam on Oct 23. The swearing in ceremony is between 12 and 12.30 at the Lok Bhavan Auditorium. Hon'ble Chief Justice, High Court of Keralam, Shri Soumen Sen will administer the oath of office to the Governor designate.

Shri Om Prakash Mathur, who was previously Governor of Sikkim hails from Bedal village, at Bali in Pali district of Rajasthan. He graduated from Rajasthan University and entered public life as an RSS Pracharak. He was BJP General Secretary in charge of Gujarat and Member of Rajya Sabha from Rajasthan.

Shri Mathur succeeds Shri Rajendra Viswanath Arlekar as 29th Governor of Keralam who was moved to Tamil Nadu.

സിക്കിം ഗവർണറായിരുന്ന ശ്രീ ഓം പ്രകാശ് മാഥുർ, രാജസ്ഥാനിലെ പാലി ജില്ലയിലെ ബാലി താലൂക്കിലുള്ള ബേദൽ ഗ്രാമത്തിലാണ് ജനിച്ചത്. രാജസ്ഥാൻ സർവകലാശാലയിൽ നിന്ന് ബിരുദം നേടിയ അദ്ദേഹം ആർ.എസ്.എസ്. പ്രചാരകനായാണ് പൊതുജീവിതത്തിൽ പ്രവേശിച്ചത്. ബി.ജെ.പി.യുടെ ഗുജറാത്തിന്റെ ചുമതലയുള്ള ജനറൽ സെക്രട്ടറിയായും രാജസ്ഥാനിൽ നിന്നുള്ള രാജ്യസഭാംഗമായും അദ്ദേഹം പ്രവർത്തിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.

തമിഴ് നാട്ടിലേക്ക് സ്ഥലംമാറ്റപ്പെട്ട ശ്രീ രാജേന്ദ്ര വിശ്വനാഥ് ആർലേക്കറിന്റെ പിൻഗാമിയായാണ് ശ്രീ മാഥുർ കേരളത്തിന്റെ ഇരുപത്തിഒൻപതാമത് ഗവർണറാകുന്നത്.
